Fordham Honors at LC

Can anyone shed some light on this program? It says that each year has approx. 16 kids. Does that mean we will see the other 15 kids in every one of our classes? Are our classes all that small? Do honors kids get their own professors? Are segregated from the student body?

THanks!

From how i understand it, those 16 kids will be taking all your core classes with you. These core classes will also be taught at a more elevated level then most of the core classes available to you. The program also allows you to take electives that are generally restricted to upperclassmen. There is also an honors thesis I believe that must be written during your senior year. I've also been told you have a much better personal relationship with the administration if you are in the honors program and are more likely to have the powers at be be willing to do you a favor etc. Also they mentioned at the preview day that they seem get a fair amount of free food for reasons that were not made all that clear.

The honors program at Fordham is a very very good deal if you are lucky enough to be among the very select few who are invited. Many many good opportunities will come your way.

Would you choose it over Cornell and NYU?

Thanks!

Opportunities do not come at the same level for everyone. However, the honors program at Fordham does have more than enough opportunities based on my standards.

I did choose Fordham over Cornell for non-academic reasons. I did not apply to NYU except for transfer but that's also for an non-academic reason.

Cornell appears to have the most prestige, especially in their hotel management and economics programs. I feel NYU and Fordham are at the same level since all of them will be overshadowed by the top ten Ivy League universities.

DuckPondParent, can you please elaborate?
