Foreign language 3-4 yrs v. taking more ap classes

I am an upcoming senior this year and I just have a question regarding foreign language requirement.

I know that Dartmouth recommends taking 3-4 years of foreign language. But what if i decide to not pursue 3-4 years of foreign language, but rather take another ap class. I have taken two years so far.

Basically, at our school we get to take 6 classes, so rather than taking 5 ap classes and and french III, I want to take 6 ap classes.

Some of my friends who got into top tier schools told me to just boost up my GPA by taking as many ap classes as possible rather than concerning about filling up the foreign language requirement. Plus I also hate taking another foreign language and I am asian and am already fluent in another language other than English.

So any thoughts on this?

Take AP French. Do some self-preperation and you’ll be good. That will be a strong boost in your application.

Taking a third year of fl will get you out of taking fl in some colleges for some majors.
Do more research for your list of colleges and majors.

Take the language.
