Foreign Language Conflict

I have a massive schedule conflict this year. I have 3 years of Honours French already but will not fit if I take Physics AP.

Should I take French IV online or in school and drop physics? Please let me know!

I would like to apply to selective colleges.

I think if you have the resources ($$), then take French IV online and take AP Physics in class. I’ve heard that selective colleges see 3 years of a foreign language as the bare minimum and that they like to see students exhaust their options in ____ language.

If you’re looking to go into a good school, you need AT LEAST 4 years of a foreign language. French should be a priority over Physics. If you cannot pay for a French online class, then drop AP Physics. If you can, take French online and AP Physics in school.

Taking French IV online is much easier than taking AP Physics online especially if you are a good French student which it sounds like as you have taken 3 years of honors french already. Plus, taking a course online will show initiative to selective colleges especially if its a fourth year of a language.
