My daughter took 2 years of Spanish in HS so she has her transfer requirement under TAG but someone told her that she will need a 3rd year of a language (Spanish) to graduate from UCSB. Does anyone know if this is correct? If it is, does she need to take Spanish 3 or can she take a college level Spanish 1 class at her CC? She is a little freaked because she hasn't taken Spanish since 10th grade and doesn't really remember anything and if she needs to take Spanish 3, it may be a problem!!

She will need to take more Spanish in order to graduate, or pass the foreign language proficiency exam. It looks like there are also quite a few majors at UCSB that require more than just a 3rd quarter.

knhofto-she saw this but I am wondering as a transfer student with an IGETC if the requirements are different since all GE’s should be complete when you transfer.

No, it is a graduation requirement, not a transfer requirement. Contrary to popular belief, not all GE’s that are required for graduation need to be completed before transferring. She will need to take more Spanish.
