Hello, so to put things short i had applied to multiple cal states and got in. I had first accepted to fullerton but my target school was csun as it was closer to home and easier for me to commute to. I didn't accept at first because my records showed that I was a sophomore entering the school however later in the summer i had checked my status again and it stated that i was now a junior after they received my final transcript. Now here comes the issue.

I had accepted my offer at csun however i had already accepted at fullerton and admist everything going on in summer work, interning, and just life in general I forgot to decline my acceptance at fullerton and now i'm technically enrolled in two schools. I really messed up and am freaking out right now because i've never messed up this bad in my life. Can someone please tell me what to do and what will happen at this point? Thank you for any responses.

It means you probably will lose your deposit at Fullerton. Did you register for classes there? If so, when is the first day of class that they would expect you to attend?

I don’t mind losing the deposit at fullerton. I didn’t register for classes and the first day is tomorrow actually. Thats even more so why i’m freaking out because i dont want to have to pay a fine or something like that if there is such a thing or them making me pay for tuition i already cannot afford at the other school

Okay, thanks VSG for the fast responses. What should i tell them when i call them tomorrow? Just that i accepted to another school but forgot to decline or should i just say that i was to decline my offer?

Just say that you will not be attending. If they want to know why, just tell them the facts of how you got another acceptance that was financially better/geographically better and that you forgot to withdraw.

Thanks vsg again for the quick response, have u seen a situation like this before and if so was everything cleared and okay? I’m still worried and stressed out!

"I’m still worried and stressed out! " There’s absolutely no reason to be. It happens a lot. You’re not obligated – beyond losing your deposit. Relax. you’re fine.
