Foster Freshman Direct Seminar: Worth It?

<p>The Foster School offers MGMT 490 in winter quarter for freshmen direct students who started in the fall. It's 4 credits and meets on Fridays but conflicts with another class that my UW freshmen kid wants to take.</p>

<p>Have any of you current Foster students who were DA in previous years taken this? Was it worth it? From looking at the registration data from last year, it looks like slightly more than half the direct admit students did take it. I'm leaning towards advising "yes, take it" as there has to be a reason that Foster offers it to their freshman DA students every year and encourages them to take it.</p>

<p>Take it. Also I’m almost pretty sure that MGMT 490 is only a 2 credit course. The 2015 winter time schedule might have a typo and show it as a 4 credit course. Confirm with Foster if you need to know for sure. It’s a good class for networking with other DA students and for getting a closer look at all the opportunities in Foster. Plus the students usually participate in a business case competition which is great experience for freshmen. </p>
