I recently found a book in the campus bookstore where my son goes to school called The College Strategy Guide. I skimmed through it in the store and liked everything I read, so I bought it and gave it to my son that afternoon. It focuses on the little things and has a lot of info that I never even knew to tell him about. He really ate it up. Has anyone else read this book? I think it just came out, but it was written by a recent graduate of my son's school which is kinda cool.

Maybe you should tear out pages and send a topic at a time. With my college kids, the book would have been tossed aside (too much to read, too little time). But little snippets would get read.

Strangely enough, the author of this book was at my son’s school this past weekend for a book signing. My son got to meet him and said he was a really down to earth guy. He apparently used to play football at Auburn, which is interesting because when I was in college, most football players couldn’t even spell.

Bought it, read it. It is a very quick read, hitting a lot of topics in a brief and humorous way. I liked it, especially for the non-typical CC student.
I prefer Cal Newport’s “How to Win at College” - I thought that one was truly excellent. Also the “How to become a Straight A Student” deserves a plug.
