I've heard from a few who will be attending this event tonight at Ft. McPherson...just wondering who else might be in attendance and we can find each other. So, who's going?

I think it appropriate as we reflect on the founding of our nation's first military academy that the Atlanta weather reflects that of West Point today...we should be seeing sunny skies and 60's, but instead as I sit here, the snow if falling in my yard...a very odd March indeed (must be the global warming!).

I went to ours which was last night down in Salt Lake City. Got to hear from the head of the WP Dept of Geography and meet the other candidates, a number of WP grads, and the woman who is the head of our Utah Parent's Club.

Talk about inspiring...

My son wasn't with me as he's in NY and I found myself compulsively thanking one candidate in particular over and over for being willing to serve.

The dinner was a very nice event. We heard from many distinguished Georgians...a real treat! If anyone is invited to this event, attend! The main reason for going was for DS to meet other candidates from the area, so he'd recognize familiar faces come June 30. Many who attended were still undecided (or were still waiting for appt), but he did meet several who had sent in the card. Our parents' club did a nice job making sure the newbs had questions answered...I hope the rest of you out there have the same kind of support that we have in GA!

GA has wonderful support. Savannah's Society was able to get the Commandant (Gen Caslen) for the second year in a row. As an accepted candidate me and a few others were able to have a an hour-long session with him in a small room.
Fabulous evening.
