If I join a fraternity, will I have enough time to study/focus on academics and do other stuff like go out with friends or will I have to sacrifice some of that to be a part of the fraternity? Also, what are the advantages and disadvantages of joining a frat?

Depends on your major and your work ethic. Also depends on the frat.

Major: Electrical Engineering I work pretty hard at school stuff. The only thing is that I get lazy sometimes and wait till the last few days to do an essay or something. Most likely the fraternity will be Delta Epsilon Psi.

Not sure with the ethnics but with most fraternities, the fraternity members are your friends, especially the bigger ones. Meaning, that's pretty much who you hang out with the majority of the time.

Kappa Sigma has a lot of electrical engineers and emphasizes having enough time for school work even while having a lot of time to have fun and party. They are probably your best bet if you are looking for a major frat with a good work ethic.
