quick, hold out your glasses!

(all) "TO BECKY!!"

Becky - just a pause in the celebration to reflect on something. You know, you're something of a sociological phenomenon. Why has this nationwide cohort of adults flocked to you, clamoring to be your rooting section, support group and fan club? Granted, you've posted links to recordings of your vocal talent, so you've got sort of an "American Idol" thing going on CC, but few college seniors have engendered such avid support and affection here. I think it's your willingness to be completely open and genuine about all the emotions you've experienced as you've gone through this process. You've readily shared your aspirations and enthusiasm, you've never tried to conceal your disappointments, and you've let us follow the highs and lows with you - kind of like a CC reality show. But most of all, you've never given up or taken on a negative attitude, and I think that's where you've earned the respect of all of us on the Parents Forum. As a dad with daughters a little younger than you, I feel better equipped to go through this process with them for having been one of your "adoptive parents" this spring. Thanks for sharing this with us.

I can't wait until I'm stopped, asked if I am, indeed, FrecklyBeckly. While visiting some friends during the Yale accepted students days, a tall boy I've never seen in my life came up to me and said, "Hey! You're FrecklyBeckly! You're famous!"

And my day was made.

You go girl.

Frecklybeckly,

Congrats!

TheDad,

Do cockroaches sing Gregorian chants?

haha, not sure but given the coastal habitat, I think that cangel would be a palmetto...<a href="http://images.google.co.nz/imgres?imgurl=http://www.ext.vt.edu/pubs/entomology/444-288/figure1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.ext.vt.edu/pubs/entomology/444-288/444-288.html&h=230&w=300&sz=21&tbnid=rLNayzLF-MoJ:&tbnh=85&tbnw=111&start=6&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dpalmetto%2Bcockroach%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%5B/url%5D">http://images.google.co.nz/imgres?imgurl=http://www.ext.vt.edu/pubs/entomology/444-288/figure1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.ext.vt.edu/pubs/entomology/444-288/444-288.html&h=230&w=300&sz=21&tbnid=rLNayzLF-MoJ:&tbnh=85&tbnw=111&start=6&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dpalmetto%2Bcockroach%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D</a></p>

FB:That's wonderful to hear. A nice way to thank your fans on the parent's forum for their wise and cheerful support would be to put a few of those recordings of your angelic voice back up online.

Becky--

Gadad said it better than I could. You're not only smart and lovely and talented, but your honesty and resilience are inspiring to watch. UM is very lucky to have you .

I am in the process of helping in the planning for my 30th UM Undergraduate Reunion. (11 of us from the same fraternity.) All of us are so excited about going back to Ann Arbor, some for the 1st time in 30 years. I think this speaks volumes about the school and the town.

Good luck to you!
