Frederick Douglass Distinguished Scholars

Thanks so much I appreciate it!

I was notified a while ago that they had got my application and were reviewing it, but I have not been notified about a rejection or an advance? What does this mean?

Did not get a rejection notfication or any additional information

@kearbear: they didn’t give me any reason for rejecting me. here are my stats if it helps:
sat: 2350
satii: 800 math, 800 us history, 750 lit
gpa: 4.36 weighted, school doesn’t rank but prob in top 5%
i thought my writing was pretty good but i guess it wasn’t (i doubt the other schools reason is why i didn’t get it b/c i got into georgetown, though idk if they know that), plus i’m not from an underprivileged background so maybe that’s what did it…

…dzed, you are a terrific candidate! My S got an email last week informing him that he was not getting the FDSS, but that admit decision will be sent third week of March. I suspect that AU had strong applicant pool for FDSS with priority to first gen, diverse, ivy-bound candidates. It is like an in-house Questbridge. They are just building the FDSS, so I suspect they are recruiting top students to apply to help boost the stats, create a reputation for the scholarship as being top-notch, and ultimately raise the bar for admitted students. AU is lower ranked and this FDSS should help increase competitiveness with GW and GT, not that rankings are that important anymore since some schools are terrific and ranked lower… The programs at AU are generally excellent in IR, Poli, Biz, and a few others. Other majors might not be as strong. It is all a rubics cube, eh? Congrats on GTwn and may you pursue your best educational path!

For those who have not heard anything on FDSS, I would assume you are still in the running. Best of luck to you all!
