YES! Go out and slaughter Western Michigan!

Big Ten is as almost as bad as the SEC for scheduling OOC cupcakes.

UCB, you guys play Eastern Washington so you’re not any better. The Pac10 is overrated. USC is the only team who is consistently good. Arizona, ASU, Stanford, Washington, WSU, and UCLA have sucked for awhile. Oregon and Oregon state aren’t that good either. It’s a joke. Western Michigan is better than a lot of your conference. If you followed football, you’d know that. They’re ranked in the top 45-55 in just about every preseason poll.

Umm, we also play two FBS division OOC games - including one against your own Big Ten’s Minnesota.

I wouldn’t say Pac-10 is overrated. Since the 2006 season the Big Ten has been a pathetic 2-8 vs. Pac-10 teams. I understand that’s water under the bridge, and we have some good Pac-10/Big Ten matchups this season so we’ll see how we matchup. Michigan is now adopting the spread offense to be faster and more competitive.

Michigan vs. USC, 2006, L 32-18
Michigan vs. Oregon, 2007, L 39-7
Illinois vs. USC, 2007, L 49-17
Minnesota vs. Cal, 2006, L 42-17
MSU vs. Cal, 2008, L 38-31
OSU vs. USC, 2008, L 35-3
Penn State vs. USC, 2008, L 38-24
Purdue vs. Oregon, 2008, L 32-26

Wisconsin vs. Wazzu, 2007, W 42-21
Penn State vs. Oregon St., 2008, W 45-14

If you followed recent football, you’d know that. ;)

UCBChem, the majority of the games Michigan has played vs the Pac 10 were in the Rose Bowl (HUGE, HUGE, HUGE home field advantage for the Pac 10, particularly LA teams such as UCLA and USC). Michigan did lose to Orgeon in the Big House, but that’s probably the only loss I can think off in recent years.

^ starts playing my small violin

:D

And I guess the 2008 Capital One Bowl was HUGE, HUGE home field advantage to Florida?

Last Pac-10 team you beat was August 31, 2002. You beat Washington 31-29 at the Big House.

^^^That’s because we almost always have to play on the west coast in a bowl game against a team with home field advantage…And yes, that CapOne Bowl Game was a big win. Nice win by Oregon at Boise St. the other day. ooops. Nevermind… ;-)

UCB,I am just happy we managed to beat Western today! Hopefully, we can scalp some Irish next week!

Eh, Michigan plays games against western? I though western was in a much lower division or something (I’m not into football at all, I was just wondering).

Western belongs to the MAC, a Division I conference. Obviously, the MAC is not as strong a conference as the Big 10, but it is still a Division I conference.

In football, teams will generally play 3-4 non-conference games (typically at the start of the season) and 8 conference games against teams in their own conference. Teams from major conferences will generally play 1 or 2 good non-conference teams and 2-3 average-mediocre non-conference teams because their own conference schedule will be more than enough challenge.

What’s that sound I hear?? faint violin

Agree 100%…the team worked hard to give Lloyd Carr a gold star on his last bowl game.

I’ve never cared for the Ducks…some of their players always seemed thuggish…somehow my views were confirmed at the end of that game… ;)

I hope so too.

We play 3 OOC FBS teams. USC is the only team in the Pac10 who is good every year. They’ve been the best team over the last decade. If we took out USC and OSU (the 2 best teams in each conference), the B10 would probably be better.
