Time to cut loss. 1-5 against our top 3 rivals, 3-13 Big Ten Record, last place finish.
This clown has lost more big ten games in 2 years than Jim Tressel has all his years at Ohio State combined. As a real coach.. like I mean a coach who knows something Bill Parcell said, "You are what your record say you are"

Every week we have a record in the making...

if RR were a trader, he would have the biggest VAR in history…
it’s comparable to socgen writing down 4.9 billion euros, except for the fact that SocGen fired J

You should probably make a new thread about this after every loss. Mabye you should tell Bill Martin that he should be fired. I’m sure he has no idea how bad this team is. Maybe you can coach the team. Comparing a coach to a trader is stupid too. Go whine about this somewhere else.

Me? I knew they would lose. I root for them no matter how bad they are. And how’s MSU doing? Oh, 6-6 you say? Ouch. I thought you guys were picked to be #3 in the Big Ten this year. Have fun losing to CMU again in the Pizza Pizza Bowl.

"Yup, you’re not bitter about the loss at all… "
hmm… disliking the coach has nothing to do with MSU. Unlike you guys, we arent obsessed with you. We care about Ohio State, then Notre Dame, then you. We are your super bowl. You are our toilet bowl.
Moo U is a game we play to keep little brother at bay, and this clown fails to do so.

hmm I came across that thread on google search and can’t stand you making up facts that are not true.
"Considering MSU has a higher ranked PoliSci program that U of M… prestige isn’t really a factor here. "
Michigan State’s PolSci department is NOT better than Michigan’s according to most publications, while you quote one of the only ones that put State’s ahead as bible and use it as fact. THAT I cannot stand.

Prestige is always a factor. Like it or not, people judge you by where you went to school. For example, when I was working with a group comprising of mostly ivies and MIT grads, people tend to take you less seriously before you even step foot in the office. Similarly, if a state grad is working with a bunch of Michigan, Cal and UVA grads, you will also face the same thing… mostly unintentionally, but people judge based on where you went to school. That’s a fact.

I didn’t make anything up. I gave the first one that came up on google. I said I don’t trust US News. I said James Madison is comparable to UMich’s polisci department. I gave the positives of BOTH schools whereas you just came in and called us Moo U.

reread your statement, you said that matter of factly, while even the slightest research would show that most publication heavily favor Michigan

I do believe that James Madison and UMich have comparable polisci programs. I am not going to retract that statement or pretend that’s what I didn’t say. I did not make anything up. I did infact give the first one who came up on Google. I still don’t trust US News, not just for this but for a bunch of reasons. I did give both good sides to both schools.

You can cite publications until you’re blue in the face, it doesn’t make any of them right or wrong, but it is wrong to pretend that James Madison is not a nationally ranked, nationally respected program that is comparable to Michigan’s. Oy vey.

Uhh guys who cares, its a football thread. I believe rich rod gets one year, and maybe not even a full year if it goes badly. If he can mold the new recruit devin gardner into the next pat white then maybe he can stay. If not cut the cord, and bring in jim harbaugh. Also i agree, that MSU cares more about michigan losing than themselves winning.

^ Not really. We have our own stuff to worry about. The only time I even hear of UMich’s football is when we’re versing them. Continue to think that though if you wish.

I truly believed that Rich Rod could build our program. With the talent he has, it should not have been too hard to be a 0.500 Big 10 program, so I believe he has seriously underperformed. This said, I believe that all coaches should be given three seasons to make their case. Rich Rod will get his third year and if he can somehow turn things around, that would be great…if not, he should be fired.

For 2010, I am somewhat optimistic about the Defense. This year, it wasmade up almost entirely of underclassmen with two notable exceptions. Hopefully, the experience will pay off. On offense, I have not seen a sign of hope. Tate is good, but he alone cannot carry the program. He is smallish and he will get injured, as he has for much of the second half of the season. He needs a real OL that can pass-protect and open holes for our RBs. If our OL can improve over the summer and if Tate stays healthy, alongly with an improved Defense, we should be a better team in 2010. How much better will determine whether Rich Rod stays or not. A 7-5 season with another lost to OSU will probably get him fired. An 8-4 season with a win over OSU would most likely secure his job. We’ll have to wait and see.

The offense is not the problem (except against OSU). It’s all the defense. They couldn’t stop a high school team. How can we win when our D sucks so bad?

how many times did the offense turn over the ball with a short field for the defense throughout the season?
How many times did the offense stall and lose the TOP battle by a wide margin, thus leaving the defense hanging for more than 40 minutes a game?

How many times this season the defense finally stopped someone, and then the offense come back on and fumble the ball right back or throw an interception.

This offense can also come out firing for a series or two, then completely disappear for 3 quarters of the game… and when they finally get something going, they turn the ball over. just look at the games against Penn State, Wisconsin, Ohio State.

Oh and your points beg a even better question… who hired the world class defensive coordinator by the name of scott shaffer last year? Who’s ultimately in charge of the team, whether it be offense, defense or special team?

Yeah, we definitely have problems on both offense and defense, when you give up 30+ points a game and can’t score more than 17 against Ohio St and Penn St you’re in trouble. I’m no longer bitter about losing, but it’s definitely just embarrassing at this point to be 5-7 with the resources Michigan has and top 10 recruiting classes.
