Free UC Transfer Counseling, Trust Me I'm An Expert

i was hoping someone participating in this thread could answer my question or link me to the correct location....i am considering uci for the fall quarter (transfer), i have an efc of 0 and was awarded some chancellor scholarship......do i get the scholarship award on top of my fin.aid or does it reduce back into my initial amount?...................UCLA or UCI + scholarship?

it reduces your fin aid amount...

what happens if you already started at a private institution, like an art school, but you realize you don't want to study or continue with your design major and would like to major in something like a social science?

Would you apply as a transfer or as a freshman student. I ask because I extremely doubt that the studio classes I took would help much for anything.

best thing to do is to e-mail the universities that you are interester in :D

and get a reply 50 years from now?

wait...
so UC's don't prioritize CC over UC? like pirates mentioned on his early posts?
but.. i found
"UC gives California community college students first priority over other transfer applicants, including those from four-year institutions and UC's own intercampus transfers"
I might be wrong... and I am confused can you explain pirates?

"so UC's don't prioritize CC over UC? like pirates mentioned on his early posts?"

You've got to be kidding. Anyone who doesn't know the answer to that question should NOT BE ON THIS BOARD YET. You have much more to learn from official sources before coming here, or perhaps you should realize that an official source is CERTAINLY more authoritative than some random person on this board. And the answer is yes: CA COMMUNITY COLLEGE STUDENTS GET PRIORITY IN TRANSFERRING TO UCS.

Ignore pirates; he is not an expert.

ok
that's what i thought but since he claims that hes an expert.
i just thought that he might be right or something...

I'm in desperate need of some help from someone with experience.

Basically I got into UCLA with a cumulative GPA of 3.26 as a transfer student, but after last quarter, my GPA dropped to a 3.01. My major is chemistry and last quarter classes consisted of:

Phys 4A: C
Bio 1B: C
Math 2A: B
O Chem 12B: C

I contacted them regarding my drop in academic performance and they said it will take 15 working days to give me a response and that my admissions might be rescinded. The problem is that the SIR is due on June 1, 2006 and the 15 working days is AFTER the SIR deadline.

What should I do? I also got into UCSD but UCLA is my dream school but if I submit my SIR for UCLA and they decide to revoke my admissions, then I'm so screwed! The admissions advisor at UCLA told me that I can submit my SIR for UCSD and then when UCLA decides to not change my admissions status, then they'll give me a new SIR date and I can cancel on UCSD. I'm kind of doubting this since on the site it did say to only submit one SIR and I don't find it credible that UCLA will give me another SIR deadline.

What shoudl I do? Thank you so much. Your help is greatly appreciated!!!! I've been worrying over this for the past couple of days.

I don't think UCLA would lie to you. Submit your SIR at UCSD.
