What classes do I need to take in order to transfer to UCB as a EE major?

Currently I am a CCC student; so far have completed 55 UC transferable units with the GPA of 3.73. Have taken one class as Pass/No Pass.(not related to my major)Shooting for UCLA OR Burkley majoring in Pol S. Have completed IGETC, but need to take the last major requirement class in the Spring 06. Member of AGS and a Pol. S Club at my college. What would be your predictions based on my statistics?? Thanks in advance for any evaluation.

Match for UCLA--in the ballpark for Berkeley.

GAbe, review my chances!

I have a 3.61 and am applying to the math/econ major at UCLA and applying to berkeley econ. I have completed all the prereq's and have 99 units at my CCC. Do I have a shot at either university

In 2005 only 64 people applied for math/econ and 40 got in. 3.56 was their average GPA. Assuming your other stats are together, you are a match for UCLA. Will you be IGETC certified? Berkeley is a ballpark/reach (22% admit rate for social sciences).

65-70 completed transferrable units @ CCC w/IGETC certification
3.81 cumulative gpa
Applying to UCSD Management science/UCLA Biz/econ & USC Marshall

A/A Micro/Macro econ
A in calculus
A/A in financial/managerial accounting

Good shot?

You are just about right for UCLA--3.8 was the average GPA for admits in Fall 2005, 19.2% admit rate. UCSD is probably a safety. The grades in your major classes will probably have little effect on UC admissions.

ok here i am
placed 1 st in the national university entrance examination for foreign students in turkey
approx 3,8 gpa
2150 SAT
800 800 800 800 SAT 2s physics math 2 molecular bio and chemistry
on project team to build hydrogen car
building a robot for national competition
a few more projects hi tech stuff
overall im good at what i do
..

i know these might not mean much but, how do i look, chances?

Yes I will be IGETC Certified by the time I transfer. and what do you mean by other stats? major GPA or IGETC req's?

There are many other factors, UniHopeful. I suggest you go to UCLA's admissions website as well as Berkeleys, go into the transfer section, and read the criteria. It's all there. Both universities practice the UC comprehensive review process in admissions, but each has developed their own system that follows it.

Folly,

Are you transferring or applying as a freshman?

here goes another chance question

current university: u of melbourne (australia)

no official class rank, but ive always been rank 1 in math and science classes
got highest IGCSE (british system, much like O levels) score in the world for higher tier math

sat 1: 2100
sat 2: 3x 800 - math 2c, physics, chem

rank 4th in warcraft in thailand in WCG (a computer game, which most of you may know)
swim - but not dat fast, not at olympics level :P
soccer - just for fun

ok wuts my chance at: uc berkeley, rice, cornell, u michigan

pirate i have 2 really quick questions.

do UCs ask for your SAT scores to be sent when you apply as a transfer from a California community college?

and also, would taking a course for my major that is only offered at berkeley and is necessary in order to declare my major, give me a huge advantage when applying for this major at berkeley? bc this course is only offered at berkeley and is requisite to declare, and i can just take it during the summer. sound like a great idea or not?

Just know, anonamous, that out of 1,217 international applicants to Berkeley last fall, 185 got in.

Absolutely not.

It will not give you an advantage in terms of admission, except that it may show you are dedicated to Berkeley. I think they typically recommend that you not be overzealous, however. You shouldn't take the course solely as a way to improve your chances of admission, is what I'm saying.

ok gabe. thanks a lot.

would dropping outta high school and taking the high school proficiency exam hurt my chances? or do they only look at what I've done after I started at a ccc? also, can AP credit count towards the 60 transferrable semester units?

I need help to decide between UCI UCD UCSD as computer science major

lostincode,

No, not at all. I have a buddy who did that (he had certain issues with being in high school) and transferred just fine.

And yes, APs can count.
