So I only applied to one UC (UCLA, it's the only one that works with my living arrangment). I'm wondering what my chances are. Here's my info

The objective/hard factors

Cali Junior College Major-UCLA: Busi Econ Cumulative GPA-3.80 Pre-req GPA-4.0 - All pre-requisites done and IGETC completed as well. no TAP

The subjective/soft factors

Essays-Really bad! Only ~550 words total! Maybe 5/10 ECs-Phi Theta Kappa member. Work Experience-I tutor math and econ at my JC.
No community service, no awards.

I think you make yourself sound worse than you are! your gpa is good, and most people haven't won a ton of awards. I would say you have a fairly good chance, even though it's a competitive major, unless your essays really are as bad as you say, in which case it's a toss-up.

Holistic addmission to a selective major means it is not just a gpa issue. With poor essays you are at a disadvantage. 50 50 chance is really all anyone can give.

I hope you still get in? I am not quite getting posts talking about UCLA REGENTS? whats this all about? you must have a 3.9-4.0 or whats going on? If we dont get one on the mail does that mean we are rejected?

UCLA regents and any other UC Regents and the scholarship - full tuition paid and other perks. You get an invitation to APPLY , that is what a lot of the transfers are talking about right now.
