Freshman - Bay State Road Brownstones?

Hey everyone…

I chose the Bay State Road Brownstones as my first choice housing on the interest survey. I submitted both my deposit and housing interest survey back on April 14th. Do you think it is remotely probable that I’ll be assigned there? From what I’ve heard, only around 10% of the rooms on Bay State are allocated to freshmen.

Thanks in advance!

there’s actually a pretty good chance you’ll get a spot there, since not many freshmen want to live in brownstones. are you sure this is what you want? I’m currently a freshman at BU, living in a brownstone, and it has ruined my college experience. granted, I’m obviously biased, but with such a big school like BU, you might want a more freshmen-centric place to start off

i agree with queenofstoneage
i am also a freshman who lived in a brownstone and I wish i hadn’t
brownstones are super antisocial

Thanks for the input. I have read a lot about the social aspect, but I much prefer quiet and secluded living spaces, and I’ve been told from friends that as long as I’m active on campus, my social life won’t be affected much. I was more or less just interested in the probability of getting housing on Bay State. I figured turning in the housing interest survey and deposit as early as possible would secure me a solid chance.

is danielsen hall good for freshman?
