Housing Question: Current Students

To all of those who already here at BU, I have a question on housing.

I’m an SMG student and I live in West right now(sucks I know) but for next year I want to move to the east part of campus. I have visited myles and decided I don’t want to live there so right now I’m stuck between Shelton, a brownstone, and Towers.

I’m looking for a kind of experience where I can really get to know my floormates and etc. Does anyone live in a brownstone or shelton right now? If so, how close are you to your floormates/housemates? Do you know them just on a name basis or do you do a lot of things with them? I live in west and everyone seems to go out to parties every weekend but I’m just not that kind of person hahah(lame huh?)

I know this is a really subjective question but your inputs would greatly be appreciated! I know it’s also kind of a luck thing to get people on your floor that may be similar to others. Thanks again for all your help!

omg I’m the exact same situation as you! also choosing between bay state/ shelton/ towers, also not big on parties… yaaay I’m not alone lol

yes! woo hahah bump! XD

bump! please help us out!

I’ve had friends live in Shelton and they became close with a few other suites on their floor. Towers is probably more social because it is more freshman-based (though a lot of sophmores still live there), but this varies depending on the floor. Brownstones vary from being a social house to being completely quiet. I’d suggest that you apply to specialty housing for a more social brownstone.

For the experience you are looking for, I’d suggest Shelton and maybe Towers. And I wouldn’t rule out Myles since it has the same social aspects as Shelton (though IMO Shelton is nicer). Good luck with housing!

if you want to get to know your floormates, towers is better. shelton and brownstones are pretty independent.
