Freshman Classes

Child went to orientation last week. I guess the six kids in her group for registration had one computer. They had to draw numbers to see who would go in what order to register. Child was 6. I think only the first two were able to get into freshman english because everything was full. Rest had to settle for other classes. She had lots of ap credit so I guess this doesn't change your registration order?
What was your experience?

I was last in my group to enroll, but I still got all the classes I wanted. I was in session 104 though, so that probably made a difference. Did said child take any AP English exams?

Maybe she’ll get her chance at September 1st, when anyone can just enroll in whatever. And it’s pretty late as in terms of orientation sessions if she did it today.

I guess UCLA tried to reserve some spots, but I guess some other people in the orientation got to the spots before she did.

If you are talking about English Comp 3, then there is a lottery system which you cannot sign up for on your own (according to last years orientation). You had to request it to your orientation counselor and they would put you in the lottery. Only 2 or 3 people get into each section per orientation session.

“Child” can suck it up and take English Comp 3 during winter or spring quarter.
