Could you please help me on this one?
I'm an int'l student and, after my calculations, my freshman uW (there's no W one) GPA was about 3.82 (9.66/10). Could you please tell me if it's a good GPA? My soph GPA was 3.92 (9.86/10). So will the adcoms be unsatisfied with my 9th year grades? Will they consider the fact that it was more of a time of accommodation? Will they like the upward trend? I'm not a troll, but as I'm not from the US, I don't know the "rules". I would like to apply to a couple of Ivies in the future (Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth, maybe Princeton) and to JHU&Duke, among others.
Thank you for your advice! :)

It's fine.

Btw, what's int'l? Intel? Intel...igence?

..?

International, or so I knew :-" :D

Oh, my apologies...int'l simply did not ring a bell. x.X

Well it definitely won't hurt you, as your GPA already seems good without the minor upward trend. (9.66/10)? Come on..

would it hurt me a lot if say I had like a C average freshman year (don't know the GPA its low because I didn't take school seriously then) then this year it went up to a B average (would have been higher but some of the classes I took I struggle in) and next year will most likely be around a B+ because the classes I am taking I should do very well in. I also am in a pear leadership program of selected students and play multiple varsity sports. am i screwed or no? I heard colleges love to see improvement and they don't look too much into freshman year.

Oh and I forgot to mention something: my course load is the toughest possible.

Newman91, I had the same thing as you: in my 9th year, I earned in my 1st semester a 7/10 at Logic (that would be a C, right?), but in the 2nd one, I earned a B (8/10). Although I was the best in my class and, as we say, I ate Logic with bread and butter, the teacher never gave us anything than C's, D's and I don't even want to think of anything lower. The same for Chemistry: 8/10 in the 1st, but A+ on the second. But my freshman GPA is the one that gives me the most doubts and thoughts about my academic achievements...

did it hurt you for applying to colleges?

I'm not applying yet :) I've just finished my soph year...we'll see in due time :)
