Has anyone ever attended the Alpha Lambda Delta Freshman Honor Society induction? We received an invite and just wanted to know if anyone felt it was a "must attend" event! I'd love to be there for my daughter, but need to know if this is something that is worthy of a 9-hour ride. I hope you understand what I mean -- I'm always there to support her, but this would be a big trip! Thanks.

We did not attend last year and never heard any discontent from D about it.

I honestly don't think it's worth an 9 hour drive unless you just need an excuse to get away.

we didn't attend either, and come to think of it I dont think S wound up attending the ceremony either...a time conflict I think.

Does anyone know what the cost is? My D received the invite, but it didn't give much information. She is already covering her own sorority costs, so she was curious what the cost of the honor society was.

We received info in the mail on this earlier this month. The cost is $30 for a "lifetime membership" -- $20 for national dues and $10 for local chapter dues. It seemed worthwhile, so I sent the check. The literature mentioned a lot about the society's involvement in community service projects, which was the key "selling point" for us.
