Has anyone found a way around the rule that prohibits freshman from having a vehicle? Is there anywhere that I could park nearby?

Sure. There are lots of ways around the “no cars on campus for freshmen” policy. But why go that route? Getting around town on the streetcar is cheap and easy. Many students leave their cars home all four years.

I don’t plan on using my vehicle on a daily basis. I will use public transportation to get around town but I need a way to get home (I live about 2 hours from tulane) or to go other places out of town.

Sigh. Well if it was me I’d park the car on Pine Street, which is on the other side of Broadway. There’s a school there, which means lots of non-resident cars coming, going, parking, etc. Just remember to move the car every couple of days, and be sure to keep track of street cleaning days. If you don’t care for Pine Street, ask some of the fraternities on Broadway where they like to park their cars.
