Hey guys,

So I was recently admitted, and plan to attend, Yale in the fall (super psyched!). My question, tho, is about the FOOT (Yale Freshmen Outdoor Orientation Trips) program?

The prospect of meeting fellow Yalies is enticing, but I'm not really outdoorsy...have any current yalies on this board gone? What were your experiences? Your recommendations? Was it worthwhile?

Thanks!

Hey, I just signed up for my FOOT trip! You should definitely go. I am not that outdoorsy either, but it will be a blast.

Congrats on the acceptance.

I think I’m going to do Harvest instead… but from what I’ve heard, all of the preorientation stuff is awesome. :)

everyone i know that did foot (which is a LOT of people, i think half my class did some foot trip) loved it. so you really can’t go wrong. just choose the right trail for your level. if you’re not into the whole week long wilderness trip, try freshperson’s conference. it’s basically girl/boy scout camp for freshmen and you meet a lot of cool people.

Nice, thanks for the advice guys–yeah, I may check freshperson out, but they all sound awesome. Congrats on Yale!
