Hi! I noticed not many current students are on CC but I thought I'd ask a couple of questions here just in case.

I'm a sophmore at CMU, majoring in biology/chemistry (MCS), and I'm trying to put my first year into perspective. I took 88 credits overall (dropped a class) and ended up with
-A's in an English class, a first-year MCS seminar, and an entire year of language
-C's in Calc II, a year of Chem, Mod. Bio I
-D in Calc I

My GPA is around 2.75.

As awful as these grades are, I know the material fairly well, and I'm doing much better this semester (have cut down on other obligations as well).

I want to get an idea of where I stand. Anyone in a similar situation, or any thoughts on how bad my grades are, maybe considering that I want to pursue graduate school? Does anyone have any rough statistics on GPA averages at CMU?

I'm meeting with some advisors to bounce some questions, but I was hoping to see what other people think for a change. Thanks!
