Hi
I know some school do not consider freshmen year grades. Any one know if Cornell considers that?
Thank you very much.

Yes, it asks for high school transcript! See http://admissions.cornell.edu/sites/admissions.cornell.edu/files/2015%20Transfer%20Requirements.pdf
Everything counts in love and war and college admssions. Have you heard that? Many schools, Stanford included will tell you they don’t look at 9th grade. Some put more emphasis on 11th grade saying that by then most students can be compared fairly to each other. Still, everything goes into the GPA, including 9th grade. All things equal if two candidates have similar profiles, but one has great 9th grade grades, it may tip the scale in his/her favor. Truly though, colleges like to see two things: you challenge yourself and an upward trend in grades. So I wouldn’t worry too much but for those just starting out, if they can see your grades, they count for something.
