Freshmen 15...From Beer?

Ok, so, my question is this. In most colleges, do underage people still participate in the drinking parties and bar goings? Is it difficult that you gotta be tricky to do or do people usually not care about your age? Do you need fake id's or anything like that? I have a brother who buys anything i want now so i dunno how this works.

drinking parties, definitely. really no need to be tricky.

bar going depend on the area/campus/bar itself. some areas or bars are stricter than others. fake ids are probably recommended.

you'll probably have no problem finding alcohol wherever you go to college...

Alright, i was just wondering about it cause i look really young. But it sounds like i shouldn't have any trouble finding a way. Thanks.

Man, I'd rather drink urine than beer. Why would I drink something that kills my brain cells, why, why on Earth would I do a retarded thing like that!? And why would I want to break the law by doing underage drinking!? I must sound really uncool right now. Pssh, whatever, at least I'd have my brain cells and kidneys and liver to enjoy.

rahulnirmal, i dont understand why you would post something irrelevant from his topic. Comments like that are , at least by me, are ignorant and should be left to themselves. Everyone has their own personal preferences, but a rude opinion like yours shouldn't be said.

And beer, look at the calories for a light beer, and i said light. Its about 115 calories, or a little more than 5% of your daily calories (based on the usual 2000). Well a person can easily put down 6 cans of beer, some easily put 10 and so on and so on. And people dont usually drink light. So if you think about it, you can easily gain more than 15lbs freshman year if you dont work out or watch your drinking

so you don't eat meat either? or fried food? or milk?

what's that, you also exercise daily?

I'm sure you're the poster boy for health.

Because milk is illegal?

I wasn't addressing the underage part, just the part about killing brain cells.

rahulnirmal2000

I don't get your logic here..........gaining 15 pounds but losing braincells??? How does that equate? I mean if you want to post about diminished brain cells then do, the OP was talking about beer drinking and weight.

who are you responding to?

rahulnirmal2000 I guess I wasn't clear. BTW how do we weigh brain cells? I mean the entire human organ doesn't weigh 15 pounds!

rahulnirmal2000 you can keep drinking your urine, but ill stick to my coors light

Just from my experience......not that many FROSH girls love beer enough to drink on 15 pounds. Just personal observation.....other drinks yes but NOT beer. It is more of a guy thing.

Wouldnt it be better to just drink a shot or hard liquor, that way you have to drink less gross stuff and get drunk faster? By drinking less, you don't have to gain so many pounds - right?

Just be careful with hardstuff that you don't drink too much of it because it seems like so little. Also you have to be patient. I know a girl who drank 8 shots in like 15 minutes cause she didn't feel it as fast as she thought she should, and ended up getting sick and stuff, so just be aware how much your actually drinking.

Some folks thing "party 'till you puke" is a sport.....an everyweekend activity that requires training, practice and then the contest.

hard liquor actually has more calories than beer...also even if u do drink hard liquor u are probably not going to take one shot and call it a night

Why I don't drink alcohol and never will.

It reminds me of where I grew up
Getting drunk every weekend is endemic to the culture where I was raised. I can't look or think about alcohol without thinking of the dozens of people I've seen unable to speak, passed out, or otherwise ruining their evening or lives. I think of drinking and I think of that. I rather suppose it's like seeing a hamburger and thinking of a cow's skull splitting wide open as it's slaughtered.
That's a bad association that's stuck with me.

I don't like the taste
I have actually taken sips of the stuff, believe it or not. I've never encountered a beer, wine, or champagne I've liked. I don't like coffee either but that's another story. I've never met anyone who's liked coffee from their very first sip nor have I met someone who truly enjoyed the taste of beer, for example, from their very first sip of it. If you don't like it the first time, why should you try to like it again?

I can't support an industry that kills so many people
I know this is a strange reason, but it's difficult for me to separate drunk drivers killing people from the companies that supplied the drinks to them. I can't think of supplying those companies with more revenue to make more people drunk, which will inevitably kill more people.

The fact that beer companies are allowed to become official sponsors of the premiere athletic event of the world, the Olympics, makes me want to throw up—and I hate sports.

It's never necessary to drink to relax
No one needs a tranquilizer to relax—if you do, you have more severe and important problems than just finding a way to relax, let alone using alcohol or any other drug for the purpose. Get help. Seriously—read a self-help book or something.

Sexism
It's apparently not enough that people die from using the product but the industry also has to denegrate a whole half of the population to squeeze as many profit dollars as humanly possible out of a likewise sexist male population that seems all to eager to belly up to the teat, cash in hand.
Which is worse? The suited cash-drinking initiator or the mouth-breathing can swilling collaborator? Tough call.

Closing thoughts
Considering how bitter I sound, I could see why someone might think I've suffered some personal tragedy related to alcohol. I haven't and I hope I never will.

Am I a facist? Not in the slightest. These are my hangups, not yours. I don't care if you don't drink like me or if you do. As long as you're not an addicted wife beater, everything's cool.

Clink, Clink.....sounds of your words falling on deaf ears.

rahulnirmal2000, I tend to not drink either, you're addressing a totally different topic here.
