Freshmen Dorm Advice & Advice in General?

So is it just me, or does CPP not help incoming freshmen about after accepting steps?
Like they have a very vague page about what to do next, but it doesn’t give much information or tell you when applications for things are open. I know other schools, like Humboldt State was very proactive about letting me know when housing apps were open, or just cute emails about fun things students do there. Is there any way to get notified or do I just have to keep sitting in the dark until I find more random to-dos?

Also I’m sure this question has been asked before, but what are the best dorms to live in first year? I have heard Encinitas, Montecito, and Aliso are the ones that look promising to me at the moment.
In addition, I know CSUF has like a page where you can find roommates. Does CPP not have that or is that not connected with the school?

Thanks in advance!

Here is a link for a checklist of what to do after you apply and enroll:

If you look at the housing page, you will see the different types of housing and many are theme-communities. The “bricks”: Alamitos, Aliso, Encinitas and Montecito tend to be more social due to the long hall layout and students will keep doors open for more student interaction.

For roommates take a look at room surf: https://www.■■■■■■■■.com/user/browse/CA

I hope this helps.

@Gumbymom thank you! I have basically looked at every page on the CPP site, but I appreciate the roommate website! I just filled my housing app with the deposit. Do you know how soon they review it and send back an answer?

Not sure about the timeline sorry.

No problem and thank you again for your help! @Gumbymom
