Does anyone know what the Freshmen move-in day is for the residence halls in 2014? The Res. Office does not know yet. Perhaps someone might remember from last year? The Friday or Saturday before classes open perhaps (this year that would be 8/25). Thanks.

Mine happened the tuesday or wednesday the week before classes i believe

Thanks. Appreciate it.

Its on the Comet Calendar. However, it looks like it will depend on which res hall you are assigned.

Saturday, August 16 - University Village apartments and University Commons North

Wednesday, August 20 - University Commons West and South Residence Halls

Thursday, August 21 - University Commons Northwest and Southwest Residence Halls

Thanks, UTDComet. As a freshman she would be in one of the University Commons Res. Halls, I expect. Also, in the Comet Calendar, it just says move-in. Is there a separate move-in date for Freshmen? Thanks, you guys have been very kind. All this is for help with planning our trip to Dallas from the Northwest, so that we don’t have to visit twice, once for the orientation (we are registered for the 8/18-8/19 session) and once for her dorm move-in.

Res halls are typically all freshman. You could also contact Res Life for a more accurate response.

@bkk I would consider your moving your orientation date if you don’t mind taking 2 trips down to Dallas. That will be the last orientation date and many of the freshmen classes will get filled up. This can make it harder to get into in demand classes or to get the better professors. Ofc this is only for convenience more than anything. If your D is concerned she can always email her advisor and request the advisor to register her for a set of classes she already picked out before orientation.

Actually, we were already there for the AES admitted students’ orientation in April and she already registered at that time. Now that I have you on the forum: what banks/ATM’s are on-campus at UTD? Thanks.

@bkk There is a wells-fargo ATM in the Student Union area but I believe its being taken down due to the partnership between Wells Fargo and UTD ending (I’m not sure the ending partnership just means that they will no longer offer benefits for UTD student banking/checking accounts or if it includes this plus the removal of the ATM). Other than that there are also a few Wells Fargo banks around the area (5 minute drive away) and I believe there is also a chase bank near here.

The UT Dallas Campus Card program with Wells Fargo, which allowed students to link their Comet Card to a personal Wells Fargo bank account, will end effective July 15, 2014. They have not posted if a contract has been worked out with a different bank.
