The way I understand parking is that it doesn’t really matter when you sign up during the registration period because assignments are made based on criteria like classification, current permit holder, etc. Since D will be living in a northside dorm, her best bets would be to request Lot 30 or NSG but it’s highly doubtful that she would get either. Is that correct? Do most students list WCG as their third option or would somewhere else be better? Is WCG guaranteed? Any recommendations?
Lot 30 is small and last year had a waiting list of several hundred students. So many students in Hullabaloo and not much parking. NSG is bigger. I think WCG is the default. From what I remember it is a somewhat random draw who gets in and application date does not matter. My suggestion is to fill out all options in the order you would like. My son is in a northside dorm and parks in NSG which is super convenient. His roommate got WCG and that is a long walk especially in bad weather or carrying anything.
