Freshmen Transfer Student - Will it effect my college chances?

Hello
I am currently a Freshmen at my local public school and have decent grades. Yet, in about a month I will be transferring to a really competitive private school in my area (Northern New Jersey). My question is, will me transferring affect my chances into getting into a really good college/university such as Georgetown (my dream college) or Brown? Any feedback will be appreciated.

Just to inform you, these are my current stats:

As of right now, I have the following grades (they are subject to change):

World History: A
English: A-
Geometry: A+
Spanish: A+
Biology: B+
Business: A-
Music/Band: A+

Btw These are all honors level courses. I have also made the honor roll for 5 years in a row (lol)
I have not taken the PSAT or SAT yet but my scores on the NJASk 8 are are advanced proficient for all subject areas

Extracurricular

Astronomy Club
LEAP (leadership/community service organization)
Jazz Band / Concert Band
Tennis

I'm also applying to three summer programs this year @ Brown, Yale, and Georgetown

I don’t see how transferring into a better school will make it harder to get into colleges. That’d be insane.

Just as an FYI, colleges really don’t care about what you did pre freshman year, so make sure to keep up with your EC’s.

thanks for the reply. I don’t know why I mentioned by NJASK scores…I know they are unimportant.

Transferring won’t hurt you, but a significant drop in grades post-transfer might. Just keep working hard and get involved at your new school. Where transferring might hurt is if the transfer occurred between junior and senior year, although I know plenty of kids who transferred to a new school senior year and were still admitted to very competitive schools.
