I am frustrated with this section of the SAT. Although people say this is the easiest to improve it--which I agree with--I still think that to increase from 40 (Raw Score) ---> 49 (Raw Score) might be the toughest to improve in of all the SAT. Has anyone gone through this
period of frustration and actually gets 47-49 question of the Writing MC correctly? Any advice? I am hopefully aiming for 700+ in my writing section in January.

I am open to all suggestions and advice.

hey knaar227, really the writing section is a matter of practice. I suggest you go online and look up ultimate sat verbal blogspot and look for complete grammar rules. This is a free section which details nearly all possible errors you are likely to find. I’d post the link but im not entirely cognizant of the rules and regulations of CC. Memorize that list by heart. Then you got to practice, practice, practice. Get your hands on all CB tests and do the writing sections, when doing them, try to reason why the right answer is right based on a rule (instead of just using your ear). Silverturtle’s guide is also very good, in detailing essential grammar rules. Use that as another reference. Also a little background, last year I was scoring in the low 500’s for WR (yup 500’s for WR, lower than a 40 raw score I believe) , but after learning those rules and practicing by taking many practice tests, now I’m fairly consistent and have greatly improved. I’m missing 0-3 WR MC on average of the tests I take. Writing is definitely able to be improved with enough practice. Good Luck!
