FSU Class of 2022 Accepted/Rejected

@Jojosmother Where did you find the financial aid info? Did you already pay the deposit? Is that what you meant by “after the acceptance”? I’m confused.

I believe also a 4.0…just a lower ACT for the 1/2 tuition waiver…my son got accepted with no OOS waiver (not 1/2 or full)…he had a 3.93 by their calculation of his core classes and a 34 ACT…I asked them to re-calculate with his Sr first semester grades because they had not used those in his GPA (he applied in October)…when they did that he qualified for the tuition waiver…so it may be worth waiting on hold…It took me calling multiple times…

@Jojosmother - Did you already accept the summer offer? Apparently the financial aid and other info would not be provided until AFTER accepting. Not sure how long after though. My son did not accept just yet… still deciding

@FPAparent @NoleMom22 y’all, I have such a headache from stressing! Lol! There has been no update on financial aid. The portal for myfsu.edu still has the sticky note that says “once you activate your FSUID, it may take several hours before admitted applicant links appear.” So hopefully it will be there? He’s accepted the term…just no new news.

I have not paid anything yet.

@thestarryknight where did you see scholarship award?

Accepted for Fall with 29 ACT, 1260 SAT, AND 3.7 UW GPA/5.1 W GPA. Does anyone know once Fall applicants can see financial aid?

@Jojosmother When I logged into the application status page and checked the status update, there was a link below the admissions letter with the scholarship offer. :slight_smile:

That is awesome. Congratulations!

@Cookies510 You had to submit your application by November 1st to hear back on January 25th. http://admissions.fsu.edu/freshman/

@rphx2nc What is FYA?

Does anyone know if the waivers are calculated on a weighted GPA? Also, if they use superscored ACT?

I had the same experience. ruined what should have been an exciting day. apparently FSU noted on their end that I should update the SSAR so the GPA calculated the way they wanted, but it never showed on my side. Since it wan’t done, it was not submitted for review. They were able to see the glitch and they are having someone review my app now and said I’d get a decisions sometime between today and two weeks from now. frustration.

My son was accepted and was offered the Benacquisto Family Scholarship which is a full cost of attendance renewable for four years. It said we are pleased to offer you …but then in the next paragraph it says he will need to be a National Merit Finalist to get the scholarship. Finalist decisions come out next month, so fingers crossed he will be a Finalist. I had always thought that the Benacquisto was for full National Merit Scholars, a designation that doesn’t happen until May or June, but who knows. He has emailed FSU looking for some clarification.

@altmom2022 FYA is First Year Abroad.

The worst that happens is you forfeit your 200 deposit, but FSU is not a binding decision with regard to admittance. It is different with housing.

@nickthesnail rejected means for summer or the pathways program as well, but you can appeal
