@flprepaidmom thx. just called, left message and emailed. Unfortunately we weren’t around yesterday to help her and she declined the summer term thinking that would then result in a fall offer. She didnt know what it meant. She was issued a new decision that she is no longer being considered. Ugh
Oh no! that isn’t good. Good luck
@bandd We are in the same boat. My daughter’s weighted GPA is over 94, but that includes electives. I don’t know if I should strip out all electives or keep anything related to her desired field of study (Psych). She took Human Development, Child Development, and Intro to Psychology. She is a mix of A’s and B’s but mostly A’s. 7 Honors Classes, 5 AP’s, great leadership. I assume she didn’t get the waiver because their GPA calculation had her under 4.0. If my daughter decides this is the school for her, I’ll try to appeal.
I’m so sorry, that’s such a stressful situation! Hope it all works out in the end
Hey, I was accepted with a 1150 SAT if you want to see proof I can provide it.
I was accepted with an 1150 SAT for Fall admission. Trust me, I’m confused too.
Yes, I applied a couple weeks ago (late January) and got the notification yesterday. A little over a week ago my status changed from “Decisions will be released on a rolling basis starting in March” to “Your application is complete and you will be able to view your admission decision on February 18th” or something very similar to that. I don’t think not receiving a notification yet is anything to worry about though. My test scores were on the high side for FSU, which I think is the main reason I received a decision early.
I’m a NMF too and I emailed the person listed on the OOS waiver letter (Dana Matthews) about the Benacquisto yesterday and this morning she updated my portal. She replaced the OOS waiver letter with an official letter offering the Benacquisto Scholarship. This might be the reason why they didn’t give you a random freshman scholarship (since they were probably waiting for NMSC to let them know that you listed them as your first choice. Why give you a scholarship and retract it later once you request the Benacquisto that covers full COA?).
Congratulations! That’s very helpful information. I hope to hear back earlier. My son’s test score is quite good as well, probably the best part on his application
Thank you so much! I just emailed Miss Matthews. I just want to make sure everything is in order. Go Noles!
As was already mentioned to you, your other “stats” were very high and impressive though including your class rank.
I recently got accepted into Florida State University through the Seminole Pathways Program. Stated in my letter it guided me to completing the “Seminole Pathways Offer Reply Form”. I completed this stating I wanted to do the Semester Abroad route. After completing this form it said that I also needed to complete an application form on the FSU International programs website. My question is whether this form on FSU IP is binding. I want to complete it as soon as possible so I can guarantee a spot in the country that I want, but I am not sure that I want to commit just yet. Is the form I have to complete on the International Program a binding contract that theoretically makes me committed to the University, or am I able to complete it without binding to the school?
was wondering the same thing, although i think it may be binding because they said all you need to fill out Is the seminole pathways form for you to get your official acceptance
I was also wondering the format of the “online classes” mentioned within the Seminole Pathways. Does anyone know how these work?
Daughter was offered Pathway. 1280/3.7 WGPA OOS. Although she would not mind going abroad her first year (she was planning to study abroad at some point, anyway), she is unfamiliar with the program, and is not comfortable accepting an offer that is not a direct admit into the business college. Good luck to all others.
@stacysmom21 Is that 3.93 from her HS transcript? Or is that what FSU calculated it as?
Wondering if schools will send people abroad next year. Most cancelled this year.
@H0llyw00d I’ll be honest I don’t know how to calculate FSU GPA.
In all of HS she’s had all A’s and only 2 B’s (both AP classes). All Honors or AP courses. 8AP’s total. 6 yrs of Spanish. Her UW gpa (A=4, B=3…) is 3.93. Her school transcript shows a weighted gpa of 4.44. 4 yr varsity, travel VB at the top level, strong essays… Wasn’t expecting money from FSU but surprised she didn’t get an admission. She has 2 full tuition scholarships from UW-Madison and Arizona and several other partial ones from other schools. Just confused like maybe she somehow messed up the application.
She got summer right? That is still a regular admit. Florida schools typically require everyone to do one summer anyway, so they get it over with early. I agree she should have been fall though.
Well, she didn’t know what it meant and declined the offer. She thought that would add her back to the pool for Fall. We weren’t there to help her. Now she got an email that she is no longer being considered for admission.
