A lot of the difference between FSU and UF is vibe. But in general FSU is stronger in liberal arts whereas UF is more STEM focused. But UF is certainly very good in most liberal arts as well so if she loves the UF atmosphere then hard to go wrong.
FSU seems like a better fit: First, she liked the FSU campus, dorms and Tally better. Second, sheâs considering a hospitality mgmt and marketing double major and FSU wins on Hosp Mgmt hands down. And UF business classes predominantly on line is a big turn off. Third, cost would be half at FSU. And finally, she just got a better vibe from the kids she has talked to at FSUâsheâs super social, but all the UF kids she talked to seemed awfully serious - maybe goes with being into STEM. And STEM seems to be where UF is putting its energy, and whatâs driving its ranking. The rank is the only category where UF wins for her, and I keep telling her thatâs not as important as everything else.
Donât put too much faith in guidance counselors. Always call/email the school if you are unsure about anything on the application. Sorry, but they donât know specifics about schools just general knowledge.
Is there anyone out there still waiting on a decision?
My son hasnât gotten a decision yet. He submitted his application in late February. I guess the seats are running out.
Yes it seems that way⊠my son submitted 2-4. Most already have housing.
Still waiting on decision. Applied right around 2/1.
D received her decision online on 2/18 and finally received her acceptance package I. The mail today-postmarked 3/25.
Same⊠I called today and they arenât even taking phone calls! At this point I would like a refund on application fee TBH. Everyone has chosen housing. I feel like they should have stopped accepting applications if there were not going to be spots left.
It says 4-6 weeks after your files are ready. I am surprised that you havenât heard back from early Feb. I guess itâs coming very soon. Although my son wonât enroll at FSU, we still want to see a decision for the application fee
has anyone requested a term change? if so how long did it take you to hear back and what were the results?
I applied as a transfer for fall 2021, im a freshman right now but i applied last week and they emailed me yesterday saying I need to send in my grade for my math course that cant be lower than a C and then they will give me a decision. I have a 3.86/4.0 . Still deciding to officially transfer or not just nervous about making new friends and stuff so if anyone has advice or knows anyone else let me know! and good luck to you guys!
My son is a pathways admit and he requested a summer c term change. We had to update SSAR and within 2 days had the decisionâŠwhich was unfortunately NO. They also said he cannot request again, the term change decision is final.
When did you submit? Was it a while ago? I just submitted recently and have not heard back yet
Submitted Monday 3/22 and heard back by Wed 3/24. Maybe it was such an easy no, that it took no time to turn around Perhaps not hearing is better. Good luck!
Thank you so much for your help! So sorry you didnât get the decision you had hoped for
My son applied January 31 or February 1st canât quite remember. He still has not heard back. I called and of course the student answering the phone did the same thing we do. She checked the portal and said 4-6 weeks. I am thinking itâs been 2 months how much longer will it be. If he does get accepted I canât imagine he would be able to get a dorm room.
Wow they told me 2 weeks at the most! Hopefully you hear back soon
It was 4-6 weeks from the application being put to the review committee which was 2/4. So now itâs been 8 weeks later and no answer. I really hope it is this Friday. Make sure to update when you get your decision.
Will do! Good luck!
