FSU class of 2025 admission and decision discussion

Thx!

On the topic of summer admits, would they have to do the long 12 week session (beginning May 10)? Or only the second session starting in June? D wouldn’t even be done with high school by May 10.

If your acceptance is for Summer 2021 (instead of Fall 2021 or Spring 2022) then it just means you are starting a little earlier than most. Not a big deal at all. In fact, there can be advantages to starting in summer (especially if living on campus) bc you can acquaint yourself with the campus, living in a dorm or apt, etc. before the larger number of students arrive in August for the Fall 2021 semester.

Hey guys! Do you know if FSU is releasing their decisions around 5? Is it rolling or all at the same time? And do they like DE classes because I have taken a lot. Sorry for so many questions but the date just snuck up on me and I recently found out about this chat!

@2021App they definitely take into consideration if your school doesn’t have higher level courses. They want to see that you took the most rigor you could handle, that was available to you. You won’t be punished for not taking what your school didn’t offer.

How do they know? That information wasn’t really asked. They really only offered 1 AP in 10th grade, then they can take a few each year. Ended with a total of 6, but IB nor DE are offered. Did well on SAT, got a 1430, but seems to not compete with GPA when it is low to have a 4.2.
I am very confused though, because I heard the OOS waiver last year was a 4.0 and 1390 on SAT, yet it seems unless you have higher than a 4.2 chances are slim to get in from what people post.
I guess no point in worrying about it, the true information will come out tomorrow and hopefully everyone has a good day

The school report your counselor has to submit probably provides detail about number of AP, DE, honors classes offered by your HS.

Just noticed the FAU admissions page says for 2020 they got over 64,000 apps. :flushed:. (Edited—the banner disappeared after I posted this; however, I took a screenshot earlier today—pasted in below).

It’s still there but it’s from 2020

So does that refer to apps received this past fall (i.e., ours)? Or for the class entering this past fall?

no, i dont think that refers to us but I am not positive

It says 2020 applications which I think are those received in 2020 so believe it would be what they just went through. It doesn’t talk to admission stats or anything so doesn’t make sense to have been prior years.

I think what is posted above is for the class of 2025. Here is the pdf from Class of 2024: FSU Class of 2024

Judging from the numbers, it looks like roughly a 6% increase in apps this year. The Orlando Sentinel reported a .6% increase at FSU - pbly a typo. Also, UF’s apps increased about 3.6% according to the Orlando Sentinel, unless that was also a typo. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think that was released before the March 1st deadline last year see asterisk on PDF. I don’t think they would be releasing anything early. But I could be wrong.

Oh, darn. You might be right.

Well, no matter what, it sounds like they got a ton of apps this year. At least the worrying and guessing will be over tomorrow! Good luck, everyone!
