Hey. I am a US citizen currently attending high school in the Caribbean. The high school curriculum here is extremely different than the curriculum in the States. The courses that are offered here are very limited, so therefore I haven't had the chance to explore anything in film or production.

Prior to this point in my life, I could never make up my mind as to what I want in a career. I went through the doctor phase, the lawyer phase, news anchor and such. I even wanted to try my hand in acting. But all of those quickly dissipated from my mind. I have recently, however, realized that I can definitely see myself doing some behind the scenes work on a movie set. I think that I would quite enjoy doing that. But, the problem is that I have had absolutely no experience. I'm in my second-to-last year of high school now and I don't have any short films made, nor have I directed any plays. Also, I cannot afford the equipment that I would need to make a short film.

So, I found some hope in FSU. Their website said that they don't require a portfolio, so I guess I'm in luck. However, I've read that it's pretty difficult to get into. I would just like to know my odds of getting accepted there or to any other film school that does not require a portfolio.

Also, I am a native to Florida. It's where I grew up and I would love to go back.

I got 8 passes in my O-Levels. I'm in several clubs which include United Nations and Key Club. My internal grades are average. Also, I haven't done the SATs yet (I plan to take them in January), and I will be taking my first set of A-Levels in about April of next year.

Please give me some advice as to what to do? Should I even bother to apply? Will I get in? What do I need to do to improve my chances?
Please send me some feedback!
