FSU Scholarships for non national merit students

So I'm a junior in high school, from MS, and I want to apply to Florida State. Do they give full merit scholarships to students with a high gpa and ACT score even if you are not national merit semi or finalist?

full merit scholarships to students with a high gpa and ACT score

Are you asking about “full ride scholarships” from FSU? I don’t think FSU even gives them to NMFs.

UF and FSU seem to rely mostly on Bright Futures to provide merit scholarships to strong students (but you have to be instate).

Have you looked on FSU’s website for scholarships?

[FSU Admissions | Freshman | Finances | Freshman Scholarships](<a href=“FSU Admissions | Error 404 page not found”>FSU Admissions | Error 404 page not found)

University Freshman Scholarship
A $9,600 scholarship distributed over four years. Recipients are selected from the best freshman students admitted to the University based upon high school grades and test scores.

(The above doesn’t say if you can be OOS to receive this scholarship, but if it’s distributed over 4 years, then it’s only about 2400 per year…not much. )

Tuition Reduction Scholarship (Waiver)
Awarded to a limited number of Non-Florida freshmen based on academic merit or special talent. **The total amount of this award is a 50% reduction (waiver) of the out-of-state portion of the tuition /B. The waiver amount is only applied to tuition and does not include other fees, nor does it apply towards study-abroad programs.

It looks like some OOS kids are awarded a $7k scholarship which reduces the high OOS portion of the tuition a bit.

So, if you got one of those, instead of paying $21k for OOS tuition (plus room/board/books), you’d pay about $14k for tuition PLUS about $10k for room/board/books. $24k per year instead of about $31k per year.

In-state tuition and fees: $5,825
Out-of-state tuition and fees: $20,992
Room and board: $8,900
Books and supplies: $1,000

What are your stats? GPA? test scores?

I have a 3.9 gpa and the 2nd time I took the ACT, I made a 25. (aiming for 30 and up). I looked at the waiver tried to see if they had more than that on the page since some schools may not list it. I was hoping FSU (first choice) did especially if I got a 30 & -> .
