Retake the SAT and/or ACT.

I’m submitting my apps early September so retaking the tests wont be an option. I will be finishing the classes i’m taking online with A’s. I also have an F in Ap American History, one of my online classes is American History Honors. It will be replacing the grade. I finished this one with an A and it should be going in soon. Would this raise my GPA to a good extent? Will FSU like that I got 4 A’s during summer?

My other classes are:
Psychology I
Latin I
Drivers Ed
Earth-Space Science

Forget about the GPA for a minute. Your sat scores REALLY need some work. If you can hold off on the apps until after the september act or the october sat, then you could take one (or both) of those tests to boost your score.

could I submit apps, and then have SAT send their scores, or would I have to wait, because my counselors are putting a big emphasis on applying early for me.

Would it hurt me that I apply a little later? FSU makes decisions Dec 3.

It depends on whether or not the college will accept that. I don’t really know the colleges you are applying to. However, I’m assuming applications aren’t roll-in (meaning that the college doesn’t start looking at all the apps until a certain date, so it’s not time sensitive), so I think holding off may be okay. When is the deadline to turn in your app for FSU?

Also, check the stats for those colleges you want to attend. Who knows. Maybe your SAT is perfect for those colleges.

Middle 50 percent for 2009 was:

3.5-4.1 academic GPA;
25-29 ACT composite; 1700-1930 SAT total

I have talked to alot of people that got into FSU with SAT’s in the 1100’s. FSU also calculates GPA their own way, so mine is going to be somewhere between 3.1-3.6

Those stats indicate that you should retake the sat and/or act to make yourself a more appealing applicant. However, it’s your call.

Thank you.
