Can the following stats get someone a full ride (tuition + room + board)?

The only troubling stats are the crappy extracurriculurs, they are quite mediocre. But the academic achievement is pretty good. So what do you guys think?

Full ride- doubtful. There are hundreds of kids at Brandeis with similar or better test scores, and your extracurriculars are pretty standard, or even below standard for the average Brandeis kid.

Not that you won't get a large scholarship, but chances are you won't get a full ride as those are extremely competitive.

Well he could get one. They do offer a lot of full rides actually, if you check out their website. You have as good a shot as anyone else as far as I can see.

Actually, my friend just got her acceptance letter from Brandeis yesterday and even got a full-ride. Academics/tests-wise, she didn't do quite as well (but relatively close) and admittedly this semester, she got a C in calculus for various reasons. Activities-wise, she was captain of the swim team and was in a few other clubs. I know very little about Brandeis but with that said, based on her stats (still, limited information), it is definitely possible. I don't know if she got it based on merit or need-based aid, but I can imagine that it might be a combination of both.

i think that all of the scholarships, excluding the full ride (tuition, room, and board), are solely merit-based, while the full-rides are a combo of merit and need-based. so that is also a factor, i believe.. but i could be wrong!

I think your stats would put you in the running for a full tuition scholarship (Justice Brandeis Scholarship, 4 year if a 3.2 GPA maintained). Per Brandeis' website, the full ride (MLK Scholarship, w/ room and board) includes a needs-based component.

Even if you only get a tuition scholarship ("only" !!!), room and board will go +/- 10k per year. Figure $3k/yr from a minimum wage summer job, loans for the balance. $30k - $35k in loans after 4 years at Brandeis would be well worth it.
