Fun question

i say so because as i am myself, but i also come in contact with a very large more and KNOW the inside and reality more than you darling.

don’t misconstrue this as ignorance, it’s just truth. i have many sources and reasons.

I’m not saying you’re wrong and you should be proud of your accomplishments. I’m just saying, don’t say things like that as fact, it makes us look bad(although mostly you). There are many black people doing just as you and I are.

You were … serious. facepalm

Yeah, little ole’ me, don’t know squat about African Americans. Except that I’ve worked almost exclusively with African American, Latino, poor whites, and blue collar as a speech and debate coach and as an ESL counselor. Oh!

Guess my reality and experience are different from yours darling. You see that’s the trouble with utilizing experiential evidence to suppose a premise. They aren’t based on anything universal and thus are highly unreliable and specious. But good luck to you and your ignorance.

Disclaimer: I’m neither African American nor do I have a liberal agenda. I just enjoy calling ***** when I smell it.*

Tootles.

yes you’ve worked with em, but you must of havent associated with them on a personal level and what they wanted to do, well not enough of em to gather the data…that i have.

^Oh data, me love data. PM me the data so I can take a gander at how you managed to measure motivation. Being serious

^ no need to PM you. just simply click on these links, just to name a few reasons on my ideology.

<a href=“What Percent of the US Population do Doctors Comprise?”>What Percent of the US Population do Doctors Comprise?;

all these people on this list are entertainers. oprah, tiger woods, thats all we have to look up to is entertainers.

2nd link, such a damn shame.

we have no black CEO’s of any tech companies, c’mon man, don’t make it seem like what im saying is farfetched. geeez, not even black people own BET!

Tiger Woods is black? confused LOL

Well if this is what you were getting at then I understand and agree. I just couldn’t understand your earlier posts.

Oh and I highly HIGHLY recommend that you watch The Wire. Especially season four that deals with the decline of education in inner-city schools.

i been meaning to download that series, all i have watched is… the corner.

^The Corner is the prologue to The Wire. I have no fear in claiming that The Wire is the greatest television show of all time.

whaaa the reallly!? i have no idea about that, i remember seeing some cast members from that point.

BET used to be owned by one of the wealthiest people in America and the wealthiest black man in America. He sold the company…

I should have been more specific by saying the, “spiritual” prologue to The Wire.

Fun question?

I don’t think this was a very fun question either. If fact I think this is a question that can go very wrong.

This is so confusing… Is it wrong to say that it’s simply common knowledge that black people don’t really find themselves becoming doctors and CEO’s?

please stop speaking for ALL black people, please clarify that your speaking about the black individuals within your small circle that probably only make up .000001 % of America’s African American community. Here is an example:

Where I come from the black people that I’ve had the pleasure of knowing have all been motivated and very successful individuals, in comparison to the other races in our community, for instance Caucasians who are known to be either be on Meth or the next cast member on 16 & Pregnant. Now, of course I’m only speaking for the amount of whites within MY neighborhood that I personally know…

It’s geography, in some places blacks might not be motivated to become CEO’s or doctors & in other places they might have aspirations to become head chief of surgery (Grey’s Anatomy) or CEO’s of fortune 500 companies.

Sooo…

@aninstance I assume your a simple person to think your question is “simple common knowledge”.

^^ thank you

Samy and Ella I think you are the ones being naive (I really mean no offense by this)

If you look at any income study based on race you will see blacks fall in last place most of the time. [File:Race 6 figure household and.png - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](File:Race 6 figure household and.png - Wikipedia) . That chart shows distribution of wealth (salaries over 100k) based on race…with blacks coming in dead last. You cant argue with facts.

mypinkfriday is stating the truth as it currently is in America, and is saying that he/she has aspiration beyond what is the (unfortunate) norm for blacks in america. I recommend you step out of your fairy land and see the world as it is

Seriously, guys? I agree with lbc123–I think you guys are being rather naive. We are in no way trying to judge you. The fact of the matter is that what I stated IS common knowledge. Our president, an exception and a black man himself, even stated, “I want [black youth] aspiring to be scientists and engineers, doctors and teachers — not just ballers and rappers.” I think that sums this up perfectly.

It is what it is, although there are definitely exceptions. It’s great you guys are aspiring and doing well, but I think you have to recognize reality.

What I’m saying is no facts, no numbers, stats, Nothing! can tell if a black child has aspirations or not. There are so many reasons that can stop a person white, black or any other race from becoming successful, but you can never determine who once aspired to be something. It’s just one simple thought " I wanna become a … when I’m older".
So the argument is that black people don’t have aspirations right? Everyone at one point in their lives aspire to be something, some people are just in F’d up situations…

& when searching for sources please look beyond “Wikipedia”. I can add everything I just said on Wikipedia, it’s a Wiki, which can sometimes be unreliable, I’m just saying.
