I wanted to start a thread to share ideas on various fundraising and volunteering ideas. I think it's a great way to communicate ideas for people who want to give back to the community. If you are a leader, or if you just want to help the world, or both, it can be confusing to come up with fundraising ideas or volunteering opportunities. My goal is to help students like those listed to be familiar with some ideas. I hope you guys can share what you're doing as well!

FUNDRAISING:

-Birthday kits-
Let students pay a fee to buy their friend a birth kit. Kits are inexpensive and can have items such as balloons, cards, candy, baked goods, gift cards, etc.

-Cook off-
Organize a large cook off between local adults in a public area. Collect entrance fees, and charge a small fee for students who would like to buy a meal. Have a prize for the winner.

-Easter grams-
Let students pay a fee to buy their friend an easter gram. Easter grams can be a $1 or $2 depending on what the gram is. Grams can range from chocolate to chocolate eggs, etc.

-Miracle Miles of Quarter-
For each quarter that has been donated, cut quarter papers and attach it to the walls of the school. It can start from a lobby to a cafeteria, or wherever. If the goal is met, have the principal get pied during social hour or break.

-Powder Puff Football Game-
During homecoming week after school, host a reversal football game where the boys will cheer and the girls will play football. Guys can buy their own shirts designed by local screen printing companies and be choreographed by the cheerleaders. Girls will be taught the basics of football. Collect entrance fees and hold a concession.

-Scooping for Money-
Let students pay a fee to make their own sundaes. Sundae materials can range from different types of ice creams to various topping such as crushed oreos, sprinkles, nuts, etc.

-Spirit Sweats-
Have a local screen printing/clothing company design a spirit artwork to be printed on clothing such as tank tops, sweatpants, sweatshirts, etc. Pre-sale for a few weeks and gain profit. School should be pride-oriented and designs must be awesome for students to want to buy.

-Turkey Teacher Competition-
Have can goods donated under the student's selected teacher. The teacher with the most can goods will have to wear a Thanksgiving suit before the Thanksgiving holiday and will receive a turkey dinner.

-Valentine grams-
Let students pay a fee to buy their friends a valentine gram. Valentine grams can be consisted of cards, chocolate, kisses, roses, carnations, etc.

-Baked goods-
Bake goods are always a great way to get some lucrative income. Just bake different sorts of goods -except oatmeals because students generally dislike these.

-Ribbons for Breast Cancer-
Have ribbons sold for a dollar or whatever donation given and have the donators write their name on the ribbons. Let them choose which teacher they prefer and have the ribbons taped in front of that teachers door. The teacher with the most hearts wins a breakfast or lunch for all of her classes. Money must be spent from the club's balance.

Here is a great fundraiser I found from college confidential. I didn't read it thoroughly, but it's very humorous: Pink Flamingo Flocking Fundraiser

VOLUNTEERING:

-Carol for cans-
During Christmas season, have a group of students carol around a safe neighborhood for cans.

-Operation: Christmas Child-
Info can be found here: Operation Christmas Child
