Funny thread to destress all the ED applicants!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/brown-university/139795-stupidest-statement-college-admissions-history.html

Haha that is a funny line.

I’m worried I made a similar stupid grammar mistake in my application essay for ed…

Well, the example all colleges seem to use (Yale, NYU, Tufts) is an applicant who wrote about “torturing 3rd graders” instead of “tutoring 3rd graders”.

I was surprised so many colleges got the same essay, so I guess it was a real person.

I guess I should add this too:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/470497-clam-fart-oh-my-god-what-did-i-do.html

Don’t worry, she got in.

I’ve also heard “volunteering as a candy stripper” instead of “striper”

and of course, “this is why i want to go to Harvard” on a Yale app.

Wow… today I submitted my app for U of Maryland, and I was freaking out over accidentally saying “crushed or rival” instead of “crushed our rival.” They wouldn’t reject me just for THAT, right?

Hahaha doubtful.

I didn’t see any typos when I checked mine, but I have a disturbing feeling that I made one somewhere…

The clam fart thread is so funny. That is the first time I have actually laughed out loud reading a post

I am so proofreading my essays again.
Lol, it’s only funny when it happens to other people!

I know this thread is kinda old, but this is still funny:

[How High Schoolers Imagine the College Admissions Process - YouTube](<a href=“How High Schoolers Imagine the College Admissions Process - YouTube”>How High Schoolers Imagine the College Admissions Process - YouTube)

Also, I almost sent a short “Why College” essay to College Y starting with the sentence “These are the reasons I am attracted to College X.” Luckily, I saw and fixed it.

Gosh, these threads are hilarious. I love the video when the guys like “Asian SAT cutoff…”

I’m glad this was brought up… Also glad colleges don’t automatically won’t admit you if there is a little grammar mistake, or a mistake such as the ones thave been brought up.
