GA Tech and JHU chances?

Hey guys, so I am a senior and I’m getting really nervous as admissions decisions are going to be coming out pretty soon in a month or two and I would like some honest feedback on my chances to Georgia Tech and Johns Hopkins.

Math - 33
Reading - 24
Science - 33
English combined - 29

Physics - 720

AP Scores:
Bio - 5
U.S. History - 5
Psychology - 5
Calculus BC - 5
English Language - 4
U.S. Govt and Politics - 3
World History - 3

By the end of senior year I will have taken:
9 AP classes
7 IB classes

ECs:
Boy Scout (life scout)
Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA)
Chess club, vice president

Swimming team junior and senior year

Awards:

Science UIL 6th place regionals
Android App camp 2nd place
Calculus bowl honorable mention

Also, can you all please tell me the weight that each of the standardizing testing types (ACT/SAT, SAT Subject test, AP) will have on my chances for admissions. For example, whether GA tech considers SAT subject tests or not, because I have been hearing different things about whether GA Tech considers SAT subject tests and AP scores or not.

bump…

Were you deferred EA from GT (no EA schools?)? Your GT superscore ACT is 31? Is that right? What is that about, it stands out as a real anomaly in the rest of your stats. Assuming you have submitted all your official results re AP and SAT, that is all you can do really.
What other test results did you get, SAT? Other ACT results? You must have taken at least both and surely, more than once?

@Alfonsia‌ I could have done a lot better on the ACT but I struggle in the reading section. Also, I haven’t taken the SAT and I applied for regular, not EA. I took the ACT one other time, but the one I posted above was my best for each section

GT won’t look at the reading number, it looks ar M,E/W and E. What is your UW GPA? Are you a diploma candidate?

@Alfonsia‌ My unweighted gpa is a 3.66 and no, I am not a diploma candidate (I am taking 6 IB courses this year, 5 HLs and 1 SL, but since I did not take an IB foreign language I can’t do the diploma)

I’m going to be honest, but I don’t think JHU will work out. GT might though. Good luck!

I think your challenge is your ACT and your GPA. The EA deferral stats are kind of depressing and RA is about a 1/5 chance. You are such an odd duck, math ACT 33 yet 800 SAT and top AP scores in math. You have rigour which GT claims to prioritise, but your ACT would definitely be on the low end for engineering. You will have more HLS than any IBP candidate, but no diploma. Have you got any schools in the bag?

You might have a chance at JHU, as they like SAT IIs. You could get into probably anywhere in Britain except Oxbridge with 3 high related SAT IIs, simulating A-levels.

I re-took the ACT in February and I get my results back tomorrow. Georgia Tech said that the deadline to turn in standardized tests is before the end of February, so I am hoping to improve in my math and english section. Do you all have any idea what the JHU deadline is to turn in all standardized tests?

Update: my math score increased to a 35 on the ACT

Youre right your ACT is gonna drag you down.

I have a question. For GA Tech, do they prefer having good grades in some classes over others (e.g. math and science classes).
