Hi i cant sleep and i just came across this website, if you'd look me over id appreciate it.

GPA: 3.4ish
Classes Taken: AP US, AP phys. and rest honors throughout highschool and a buncha computer classes
EC's: Random clubs spanish club, international club, some other ones i dont really remember
SAT: i gotta 1410 on the PSAT havent taken the SAT yet

Im a junior right now and i know my grades arent so great AND i havent taken many EC's compared to everyone else, looking at highschool i wish i took it more seriously but do you think its possible to get into maybe UGA or Tech? thanks again in advance

Are you from Georgia? If so, your PSAT scores are good; if you can score the same or better on the SAT's you should be good for UGA. You have time to bring your GPA up as you are a junior. EC's aren't that critical for UGA. Work hard this year and next; you stand a very good chance.

try and get all As this year, you can have a good shot. junior year is most important. . .all A's is possible with some serious motivation.
is your gpa weighted or unweighted?

is your psat score including writing? or is it the math and verbal?

Aim for a 3.75 and you will qualify for scholarships. I think that for Tech, you are fine. They are more interested in test scores and individual grades in math/science classes.

When I visited UGA, the adcom ranked the 3 most important factors in a admissions in order:

GPA

Rigor of Curriculum

Test Scores.

They REALLY want to see good GPAs. I don't know if this is a fluke or not, but I know a kid who had a 3.3 GPA and 1420 SAT who didn't get in. On the other hand, I know people with 1000s on the SAT who got in.

So, this year, aim to pull up your GPA a lot. Then, do well on the SAT again, and take some AP classes your senior year.

Yea that PSAT is the old one including math and verbal
Im from Georgia
3.4 unweighted

Wow thats a BIG relief i thought i wouldnt get into any colleges at all. I dont think my GPA coming up much this year but ill try really hard now that i know what i need to do. One more questions i heard colleges like if you send your application in early, would i not want to do that since im still bringing my grades up?

3.4 unweighted is just fine dude. If you're taking tough classes as you say you are, you should be fine. Your grades this year are important. . .also, if 1400 is just math and verbal and not writing, you are in very very good shape. I think you'll get into both if you do well your junior year.

You're going to need at least a 3.7 and a 1300. UGA I think you can cut it with a 3.6 1220. Personally I think UGA is getting too hard to get into for no reason. It's an average school.

Also, being pakistani isn't going to do a thing for you. You guys are the majority at tech.
