Game of the century...ha!

Sure it was a defensively oriented/dominated game, but it consisted of five field goals. Alabama can't kick to save their lives either. I'm guilty for succumbing to the over-hyping, but still. Disappointing in my opinion..

What are your thoughts?

If you wanted exciting, then oaklahoma/oaklahoma state is really gonna be the game of the century.

This was rather more of a game that you’d think of as a “what if” situation. But since the score was so low, every down was huge. It lived up to the hype, both played strong and are making every other potential BCS bowl contender scared.

Since when did score dictate how good a game was? Sure offensive shootouts are fun to watch, but this game showed who the better team was, and any mistake was punished. It was a great game and lived up to its hype.

Good game. Game of the century? Not even close. I’m not even a huge fan of football, but it was a great game to watch IMO.

Alabama should have won. Their kicker(s) screwed them over. If you count turnover on downs as turnovers, then Alabama had 5 turnovers, 3 of them missed field goals.

Whoever started the idea of “game of the century” is a complete idiot. Either that, or it’s more of a ploy for false advertising to get people to watch the game. Afterall, the whole BCS is about making money

I want to see Stanford play in the BCS championship. Moreover, I want to see the Colts go 0-16 or 1-15 so that they can get Andrew Luck, even if that means Luck holding a clipboard for 3-4 years. Manning is going to be gone sooner or later, and Curtis Painter has no business playing football, much less than playing for the Colts.

How come we have 2 game of the century in a year?

cuz BCS makes no sense

Because the BCS is years behind college basketball.

Don’t like the BCS but the two best teams in college football this year are playing for the national championship. If Alabama wins the rematch, and I think they have a real good chance to do so in another close game, then what? I vote for having co-champions, but I know that’s not going to happen.

that OU OSU game made me so mad. Landry Jones is a talented thrower, but he was so bad with his decisions… I have a feeling that guy is going to be another bust in the NFL. Either that or a very below average backup qb.

co-champs? who would want to be co-champions? It’s going to boil down to the better defense. I got my money on Bama

Yea, even though I can’t find any alternative that tickles my fancy, the BCS bowl system is kind of annoying. I, personally, don’t really care to see an Alabama-LSU rematch. What will the game prove if LSU wins again? When you can beat a team on their turf in a battle of the defenses then you’re the better team. When you can annihilate every other team you play by about 25 points or more–even more so. That’s the truth.

I would’ve preferred to see OSU play LSU for the championship, and I still think the Stanford-OSU game will be more fun to watch, as will Oregon v. Wisconsin (and that’s not just because one of them is my team). Other than those two match ups, the BCS really half-assed it this year.

They’re way too SEC biased (but I guess that’s where the money is…) and they got stuck with these conference tie-ins that will lead to a team like Boise St. (ranked in the top ten) playing against a crappy ASU team that is 6-6. Why!?
