Hi there, My brother is going to NYU in the fall hes a Transfer, and he wanted me to get peoples opinions on this subject. Hes a hardcore video gamer, Do ya think he should bring all his systems, games, and technology with him to NYU or is it silly? Thanks in advance.

I study video games at NYU and at NYU-Poly. To be honest, if there’s enough room in the room for everything, and he won’t keep his roommates up all night, there won’t be problems. If he’s yelling while playing MW2 at 3am on a weeknight, his roommates won’t be too pleased. Just tell him that the internet connection at NYU can be spotty at times- sometimes I wouldn’t be able to raid in WoW because the internet would lag too much.

Do you think it will be a distraction for him? I mean he plays a lot… also, he wants to know if security will be an issue as far as, people stealing from him, what not? Thanks again, that is good advice,

I don’t know him. That’s entirely up to him. Some people are seriously distractable.

As long as he keeps his room locked and practices common sense (maybe i shouldn’t bring that gigantic TV) all of his stuff should be safe.
