Gap year vs Transfer Admissions

Hey guys!

I have been admitted to University of Wisconsin, Madison and University of Washington. I plan to pursue a major in Computer Science, but I was rejected/waitlisted from all my top choice universities.

Should I take a gap year by deferring enrollment at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and reapplying to universities by changing my major(hence increasing my chances) or should I enroll at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and try to transfer to one of the following?:

Georgia Tech
Carnegie Mellon University
University of California, Berkeley
University of California, Los Angeles
Cornell University
University of Pennsylvania
University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
Rice University
Duke
University of Virginia
Northwestern University
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
University of Texas, Austin
University of California, San Diego
University of Southern California

What would be the best course of action?

I seriously doubt changing your major will increase your chances. Most Us admit by school, not major.

Go to Madison, you’ll get an excellent education there.

@Snowdog Yeah. I have decided that as well. Thanks! B-|
