What is life like for a gay girl at UVA? Would I be able to date anyone? Would I be generally accepted? Are most people friendly and open minded? I’m worried about not only acceptance but the ability to find other gay people and date. Thanks!
I have know many LGBTQ students at UVA and seem to have active, happy social lives. I think that the size of our school (about 16,000 students) means that students tend to be accepting of all kinds of diversity.
You might want to take a look at the [LGBTQ Center/url and the [url=<a href=“https://www.facebook.com/queeratuva/%5DQueer”>https://www.facebook.com/queeratuva/]Queer Student Union](http://www.virginia.edu/deanofstudents/lgbtq/) beyond reading replies to this thread.
By the way, I think that social media has helped many students connect in the summer, which takes away some of the anxiety of moving to college.
