General Question about Transferring

If a tranfer applicant applies for sophmore admission and is turned down, can the applicant still reapply next year for junior admission? Do colleges look down upon this? Are these applicants at a disadvantage?

in general (i would advise you to go look up the policies of the schools you are interested in) most schools i believe require for you to wait at least a calendar year to re-apply for admissions...usually an applicant can apply a second time for transfer admissions...if you were already rejected once from said school, you need to make a concerted effort to improve your application through whatever means you can (upping your gpa, improving your essay, ec's, etc..).

gl

dufflebagjesus is right. off the top of my head, I think Penn and Columbia will not let you reapply for the remainder of the year and ( not sure) I think UMich makes you wait 2 years for certain colleges within the university.

so i cant apply for transfer as a freshman and then again as sophmore for Penn and Columbia?

I don't think Penn or Columbia accept spring transfers any way ( Penn LPS does but none of the other colleges do). If you apply for admission in the fall of 2009 and get rejected I think you can apply for admission the following year because it would be a different academic year.
