I recieved my June 2011 scores and my essay subscore concerns me. My scores were,

620 Reading
710 Math
610 Writing
-66 M.C.
-06 Essay

I took the SAT in May as well and recieved a 570 on the writing (07 on the essay and 60 M.C.). Even though I did better overall, I'm curious to know roughly how much my low essay subscore in June lowered my writing score. I was hoping to get a 09 or a 10.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When you receive the detailed score report, you’ll have access to JPEG images of your essay. Upload them to ImageShack and post the links on this thread and have CCers figure out why your essay scored a 6.

Here are the links for my essay,

It’s not that I disagree with their scoring, because I don’t think my essay is very good either. I’m was rushed when writing it and didn’t have enough time to write more.

What I am curious about is how much a 6 on my essay affected my score i.e. how much better would my score in the writing section be had I gotten a 9 or a 10?

there are scoring guides in the back of practice booklets, you might be able to find something on the sat website. IDK but it makes a big difference, at least 10 points on final score per essay point
